In my artistic practice, I believe that true beauty is not found in exaggeration or fantasy, but in the honest and faithful depiction of reality. This philosophy guides every aspect of my creative process, and it was especially meaningful when I painted a portrait of my father. He had just emerged from a challenging period in his life, and his face carried deep exhaustion, wisdom, and kindness. In that moment, I realized that this unembellished image of my father was the most beautiful scene I had ever witnessed. My role as an artist was not to idealize or alter what I saw, but to honor it by recording it truthfully.
